Water is important. Akelos knows that. A student-run water solutions non-profit based on the campus of University of Illinois, they do everything they can to help disadvantaged rural international communities with their water needs. In the Spring of 2019, as a part of a student-run advertising agency, I proposed a new creative direction for Akelos.
One main concern the client wanted to avoid was exploiting the images of those they were helping. To meet this need, as well as help simplify what they do in a visual format, I suggested iconography as a direction. With this in mind, I created a variety of templates, guidelines, recommendations, and marketing assets for Akelos - social media ads and posts, a print flier, motion graphics, and a 3-minute video storyboard, along with other materials. This campaign was well received by the client and was the "favorite campaign" of the president of Akelos.
